Working together since 2017, BeMyApp and Paris Android User Group (PAUG) have come together once more to present the fourth annual Android Makers conference. One of the largest and most prominent Android application development events in the world, Android Makers offers two full days of expert-led sessions, workshops, showcases, and networking.

While previous years have invited attendees to participate in the city of Paris, the 2020 COVID19 health crisis saw Android Makers transition into a completely digital event. Through BeMyApp’s virtual conference platform, attendees were able to connect and participate from the comfort and safety of home. If previous Android Makers events had you thinking they couldn’t be topped, this year made it possible to attend in your favorite sweats/pajamas, and it doesn’t get any better than that!

Despite these uncertain times, Android Makers achieved a record-breaking attendance with more than 700 Android enthusiasts from over 34 countries and more than 70 sessions from which to choose.

#AndroidMakers 2020 Virtual Edition Sponsors

Android Makers could not be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors, including Bitrise BlaBlaCar, @Coyote_Officiel, Meetic Tech, @MWMcompany, Publicis Sapient and leboncoin

Each were active partners who engaged with attendees by sharing their best practices, leading discussion panels, and networking with the industry’s top talent. In addition to the Android Makers platform, sponsors operated dedicated channels on the official Slack domain open to anyone interested in posing questions and engaging in discussion.

Tracks For Every Area Of Interest

With four tracks offering over 70 discussion sessions simultaneously, a traditional event would make it difficult to narrow down which to attend. However, this entirely digital experience made it possible for attendees to maximize their time and participate in numerous options.

Partner’s Area

Where traditional events might offer brand booths, Android Makers 2020 maintained a level of interaction by introducing a Partners Area on the platform. Here, participating brands could share their resources and present their services directly with attendees.

The Partners Area made it possible for mentors, organizers, sponsors, and attendees to easily communicate through the platform chat/Q&A section, Slack, and other applications like Slido to collect feedback on the discussions and to organize polls.

1-on-1 Interviews

BeMyApp played a lead role in facilitating the interaction between attendees and conference speakers. There was even a dedicated channel for recruitment purposes, as many sponsors and organizer companies seek to hire Android developers and experts, despite the current crisis. What could be better than getting job offers while seated on your couch?

The conference chat feature allowed attendees to ask their questions directly and interact in real-time, ensuring a truly engaging experience for all.

Empowering and encouraging Android Developers

Throughout the conference, the Paris Android User Group provided lots of support and encouragement to any attendees who may have an idea for an app, are in the process of beta testing, or have already completed a new application.

A dedicated clinic provided those looking for feedback on their app development the chance to send an email to the PAUG development team to book a one-on-one Skype session and receive feedback, guidance, and insights.

Speakers can combine slide presentations with their talk without the attendees having to lose sight of them.

Well Deserved R&R

What would a conference be without traditional networking drinks? Following the conclusion of days worth of sessions, the Android community took some well deserved time to connect.

7 pm on the first day of the conference; time for a virtual drink with the attendees!

Video Replays

For anyone who would like to view or revisit any of the 70 sessions offered throughout the conference video replays can be found on the BeMyApp Platform and will later be added to the Android Makers’ YouTube account.

Attendees with Premium plan tickets can also download the replays in mp4 file format.
